Modern Metropolis on Garrett Lane in SW London specialises in post-war designer furniture, sofas, chairs, tables, storage, lighting and art. They have an awesome stock that changes every time I go in there. It’s run by a lovely guy called Chris who can also help you track down that special piece you’ve been hunting for 10 years!

Their furniture is fantastic, names include Charles Eames, Herman Miller, Arne Jacobsen, Panton, Pieff and Vitra. They always have a great selection of lighting and art which usually includes some amazing Murano, Whitefriars and Homemaker.

Featured below is a 1970′s large italian chrome ball floor standing light with 5 adjustable arms £345.

A 1960s herman miller fibre glass armchair stamped herman miller in ivory on chrome and beech rocker base £395

and a 1960s low slung white fibre glass sofa with blue pin cord fabric £1650

New collectables including Hornsea Spice Rack & Cheeseboard and 1950′s tea set

We have some super new collectables in the shop. Pictured below are a stunning 1950′s tea set consisting of teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug (£60). A wonderful example of Hornsea, spice rack and cheese board (£25) and lastly some beautiful hat boxes from Harrods (£10 each). These boxes are quite substantial and are great for storage but are gorgeous enough just to be displayed!

All items are available for purchase in the shop, not on the website as they are too bulky/heavy for posting.
