We have a very special guest at Abbeyfest this Friday 24th July – Lillian Boutte.
Lillian is a unique singer who blends all that is best in Jazz, Gospel and R&B in one high energy, enormously entertaining package, this is one evening not to be missed!
8 – 10pm on the bandstand and it’s totally free
LILLIAN BOUTTÉ: On the music scene for more than 30 years Lillian is a monument to Jazz, Gospel and R&B. She has performed and recorded with a myriad of legendary musicians including Harry ‘Sweets’ Edison, Dr. John, Professor Longhair, Clark Terry and our own Humphrey Lyttleton. Named “New Orleans Musical Ambassador” in 1986, she was only the second jazz legend in the city’s history to be accorded this honour – the first being Louis Armstrong.
This years 8 week live music festival at Abbey Mills starts this Friday 10th July with live music from Tony O’Malley.
We will keeping the shop open all evening and we also have a stall around the bandstand end with lots of tees, trilbys, sunnies and much more!
It’s going to be a great evening so do come down and check it out. You don’t need a ticket it’s all free..
