So you've just found out that Vintage at Goodwood is going to be at the Southbank Centre, ooh goody you think, start planning your outfits, and then, hmmm, but how on earth am I going to take my picnic along whilst still staying faithful to my style?
I'll tell you how – with this fantastic 1950's picnic set. Forget your usual boring baskets, this is a carry basket in beautiful blue with plates, tea-cups, condiment set and sandwich box!!
Fancy a bit of vintage bling to brighten up an outfit? 1950′s costume jewellery is the best, good sizes, lots of colour, turns a dark day into a sunny one. I’ve just listed four new pieces in our eBay shop: : The Vintage Venue eBay shop
We now have a small but beautiful selection of 1950′s summer dresses in the shop. All different colours and sizes, perfect for the warmer weather which is (nearly!) here.
We’ve had a few items of very nice 1920′s – 1940′s clothing come in to the shop via the Trade-In. Including a couple of super 1940′s dresses, one 40′s blouse and one jumper. They’s be perfect for this years Goodwood Revival but we don’t expect them to be with us for long so do pop in if you are interested.
Pictured below a stunning 1920′s silk dress. Amazing quality and the most beautiful print. It has very sweet cuffs, lovely neckline and is cut on the bias so it hugs the hips and then flows out at the bottom. I’ve tried to show the panelling detail in the pic as it is spot-on!
This is our gorgeous new shop display, it’s a 1950′s Scots bandsman uniform and the detail on it is just incredible. If I can ever find the appropriate occasion I might just have to wear it!
We also found some old footage of Mick Jagger singing Paint It Black wearing something VERY similar
We are super excited to be featured in Vogue’s December Vintage Special!
